These classroom improvements included minor architectural changes, updated finishes, new AV/IT, and reworked electrical and mechanical as required in eight classrooms between Stratton and Hill Halls on the Colorado School of Mines campus in Golden, Colorado. I was added to this project team early in the three month Construction Administration process to lead coordination between the architecture team, consultants, general contractor, and owner.
For this project, my responsibilities included:
- Coordination with consultants to promptly respond to and return submittals and RFIs, as well as manual tracking of these documents
- Communication with the general contracting team and subcontractors to quickly resolve any unexpected conditions revealed during demolition
- Coordination with owner and other School of Mines representatives to ensure classroom improvements meet school standards for finishes and operations
- Schedule monitoring to ensure the project construction would be complete before the first day of classes
